Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and supporters, there’s something for everyone at the Hospice Auction says Fundraising Manager Anna Meredith. “Instead of shopping downtown, supporters can bid for items on the Hospice Auction list and get what they need while supporting community” says Ms Meredith. The auction Launched Monday 18th February and closes on the 3rd of March.

The newest addition to the auction is a zero commission property sale by Harcourts – this means the highest bidder can sell their property and pay no commission to Harcourts for the sale with 100% of the bid going to Hospice EBoP. “This is tremendous value, selling a house is a lot of work and the expertise of Harcourts has a big impact on the result. This can be a rural, commercial, lifestyle or residential property so there’s a lot of potential here to get a fantastic deal while supporting Hospice”.

Over 60 auction prizes are listed on the silent auction page www.galabid.com/sunshine2019 and items start as low as $5. From holidays to shop vouchers and car services, to rare signed memorabilia the auction aims to raise as much as possible to help Hospice EBoP provide specialist medical care for patients in their final months.

While a number of the high value items came from Sunshine and a Plate Sponsors, businesses across the region have generously donated a broad range items so anyone can take part. The majority of the items will be open to all bidders online, whether they attend events or not, but a select few will be exclusive to the live auction at the Harcourts Black and White Ball.

Items to Live auction at the ball will include the Harcourts zero commission property sale, an electric guitar signed by the eagles, a rugby boot signed and framed by Richie McCaw, a series of skin treatments with Simpkins Street Villa, a cookbook signed by Gordon Ramsay and top quality experiences. Tickets to this are available at www.sunshineandaplate.nz/events or from the Whakatane Hospice Shop.

Keen bidders can head to www.galabid.com/sunshine2019 or pop into the Hospice office to make their bid at 37 Goulstone Road.
